Ribe is a town where details matter. Cobblestones, old window panes and half-timbering call for a calm hand, and visitors to the old town notice whether windows, entrances and floors are clean. That is the kind of cleaning we are good at.

Ribe is known as Denmark’s oldest town. Archaeological finds show that it was founded as a trading place in the 700s, and around 860 the missionary Ansgar was allowed to build a church here. Today Ribe is part of Esbjerg Municipality.

In the middle of town stands Ribe Cathedral. Its oldest parts were built from around 1150, partly of tuff stone from the Rhineland, and it is Denmark’s most important Romanesque building. Around the cathedral lies the medieval town centre with cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and old merchants’ houses – this is also home to Denmark’s oldest upper secondary school, Ribe Katedralskole, and Hotel Dagmar on the main square, which calls itself Denmark’s oldest hotel.

Just west of town lie the marshlands and the Wadden Sea. Wadden Sea National Park was inaugurated in Ribe in 2010 and is Denmark’s largest national park, and in 2014 the Danish part of the Wadden Sea was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

History and nature draw many tourists to the town. That is why the old town has many shops, cafés, restaurants and hotels – and there are holiday homes and holiday flats in the area around Ribe. It calls for cleaning that is thorough, discreet and reliable, also in the high season.
